Thanks for reading along, always appreciate hearing from people who red the site!

Despite the post, I’m a glass is half full kinda guy. People will still want someone to do the hard work for them. Whether that’s pickup, delivery, meal kits, or traditional dining out in some form. I’m fairly sure things will never be 100% the same, but I’m hopeful new and interesting models come out of this.

We’ve been following your site for 8 yrs. since discovering the beauty of Snowbird!! I am truly depressed at the future for the hospitality industry. SLC has the most amazing food scene in the country and I’m afraid some of our favorite stops won’t be in business next year. I would be willing to move to SLC from Wisconsin, simply for the food scene alone!!! I pray to God we revert back to the Old Normal, but I think your views are grounded firmly on reality.

I’m torn both ways. Part of me says much of the same applies, people won’t want to congregate. But then I think of my local bar where I’m certain the patrons don’t give two hoots about Corona already, give me beer/liberty/death kinda attitude.

Sorry to make you sad Faith! I think it’s worth looking at the potential outcomes of all of this with as much scrutiny as possible. That way we can be prepared for what’s next, whatever that might be or look like. People will still want to eat, celebrate and. mark special occasions for sure!

And I am trying not to feel discouraged in this new climate. I am hopeful that restaurants will find new approaches to dining and that we become of community of support.

I gave up trying to hide my abject disgust to the whole thing years ago and accept that I’m someone who’s either a nutcase, or ahead of the curve. I always ask for new utensils when I sit and find that particular nightmare scenario 🙂
